Sometimes you'll need to feed a Guardian some monsters to progress (grabbing and throwing them, with awkward aim), toss enemies on grinders or spikes, pull levers, or clear an area to progress. – Recycled puzzles. You're going to do the same thing, over and over, for most of the entire game. Here's what irritating me so far as I run through the game: It feels like that's all that's left at this point. I'm pretty certain the only reason I'm forging on is to see what exactly is going to happen to Rick's girlfriend Jennifer, and to unlock even more bizarre, bloody finishing moves and splatter kills. Thus, I've been playing off and on now, up to the fourth mission, or "phase," and I've got several gripes. Since I recently picked up the TurboGrafx version, I decided to go back and try out the reboot again. To tell the truth, I was really only interested in the grisly, gory kills, and the fact that you could beat enemies to death with their own severed limbs. I expected it to be nothing more than decent or playable. The general consensus at the time was that, well, it wasn't pretty. With quite a bunch of attacks, which are unlocked by spending soaked up blood from defeated enemies, you can punish the armies of evil in plenty ways.I once picked it up ultra-cheap during one of Amazon's year-end sales, along with Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom, and I never really finished it at the time. My favorite parts in the game are the 2d-Levels! The controls maybe a little spongy and the loading times are sometimes annoying but if you have a little patience you will get a game with style and character! The design of the game is unique! Gore & brutality in a comic-cel-shading-look. This game is awesome!! It makes so much fun listening to the comments of the "Mask" when you 're hunting down your necro-mutant opponents! Featuring an original storyline by critically-acclaimed comic book writer Gordon Rennie (Necronauts, Judge Dredd), Splatterhouse takes Rick beyond the mansion as he scours the ends of the world to rescue his beloved Jennifer. Full of desperation and rage, Rick puts on the "Terror Mask" and is transformed into a juggernaut of pure violence and destruction.
